Other sites I like
Sojourners, a Christian group that sits “at the intersection of faith, politics, and culture. Our coverage goes beyond the trending headlines to uncover and explore in depth the hidden injustices in the world around us. Our call to prophetic interrogation means we seek the truth as informed by our biblical roots.” Founder Jim Wallis wrote God’s Politics, among other books.
A Mighty Girl bills itself as the world’s largest collection of books, toys, and movies for parents, teachers, and others dedicated to raising smart, confident and courageous girls. I like their posts on Facebook about women and girls in history.
Goodreads is a great place to keep track of what you are reading (if you likes lists the way I do) and get recommendations on what to read, either from friends or by exploring the site. After you add books to your read or “to read” shelves, the site generates its own recommendations as well. And, there are quizzes.
The International Movie Database (IMDB) is handy for figuring out where you’ve previously seen an actor when you are watching TV or a movie. Read an actor’s filmography, watch movie trailers, get celebrity news and look up trivia and movie goofs. There’s lots here.
